Making Great Use of Your Old Craft Supplies

When's the last time you cleaned out your craft supplies. Do you still have those 2D stickers from 15 years ago when you first started crafting? Well, my mom and I did and we cleaned it all out and gave a big bag of goodies to my DD. She loves stickers! She couldn't believe how many we gave her. A couple weeks ago she and our DS decided they would put them to good use!

Aaron is so funny. When his sister decides he needs to be "prettied up", he goes right along with it!

Look at those beautiful eyes :)

Here's Bethany...you silly girl! Way to take advantage of those border stickers!

What a lovely smile!

No projects today. I'm working on it this week and will try to have you some craftiness very soon. Last week was just sooooo crazy!

Thanks so much for visiting :)

Until next time...

While You Wait ~ finally got it done Moira!

Here we go again! Another work week... :(
Of course, we should be thankful the Lord let us wake up this morning! Thank you, Lord!
I am excited that I only have 29 days of work left before Summer break though! Yippee! Can't wait....can't wait....

Here's a page I finished over the weekend. I did it for VSD #3 that our blog group had. Moira *waving girl* hosted the 2nd challenge. Make a scrapbook page, use a specific sketch she listed, and stamp on the page. Well, 2 out of 3 ain't bad. I didn't get any stamping on the page, but I did use the sketch.
Here it is...

I love the way the sketch had the journaling in strips on the side. This is from our family going to Macaroni Grill in 2008 for my sister's birthday. The pics are of our dad, her husband, my husband and daughter waiting for our table. The journaling tells about the things we say and hear while we wait! :)
The stars are buttons. I pierced two holes and threaded some linen thread through and tied in a bow. I used cream pearls in the top left corner.

Thanks for visiting!

Until next time...

Crafty Critter BGC #25

Hello ladies!
How are you today? I hope you're having a perfectly crafty day! :)
Today's post is the card I created for our blog group's #25 challenge. Here are the particulars:

Element 1: Place a flower somewhere on your card. This can be a paper flower, prima flower, stamped flower image, flower dp, etc. As long as there is a flower on your card.

Element 2: Embossing, I want to see embossing. This can be dry embossing with your Cuttlebug or Big Shot or it can be heat embossing.

Element 3: Use SCS sketch SC273.

Thanks for a fun challenge Melanie! *waving*

So, my flower is a piece I cut from patterned paper. I embossed the pretty in pink card stock with the eyelet texture plate from SU! and then sponged some pretty in pink ink over it. My background card stock is Melon Mambo. I used the clear circle bigz die for my circle. I used a pretty in pink brad in the center of the patterned paper flower that I placed on the circle with pop dots. I love my new modern label punch and so I used it with my sentiment from the Thank you kindly set (SU!). Lastly, some pale pink fiber to finish it off.

I'm off to hide at my craft desk again. I've got to get some scrap pages done!

Until next time...

VSD 3 Challenge 1 ~ Natural Country Scene

Hello all!
Man, man, man, I've had a whirlwind of a weekend...
Now on to a long work week....UGH!!!!

The blog group I'm in over at SCS, had a Virtual Stamp Day this past weekend and I'm just now getting my projects uploaded. I'm late, I know. I feel so bad. But, at least I'm getting it done now, right? :(

This first card is from the challenge I hosted (I had to schedule it to post and wasn't "live" to chat with the girls, sob, sob....)

Here's a link to the specifics of the challenge: VSD 3 Challenge #1

I love my new Natural White c/s from SU! This is the first time I've gotten to play with it. I had fun cutting my grass and making the sun's rays! My crimping...well I don't have a crimper so I folded my "fence" and then distressed it.

Supplies:
Everything is from SU!
stamp sets: Thoughts and Prayers, Fundamental Phrases
cardstocks/papers...Natural white, bashful blue, old olive, white, very vanilla
inks...Old olive, real red, chocolate chip, so saffron
embellishments...vintage brads
accessories...scallop trim punch, scallop circle punch, scissors, modern label punch, SU! markers

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Until next time...

Silly Polka Dots

Hello people!
How are ya? I am feeling good because I am gettin' some scrappin' done this week.
I'm sharing a couple I recently finished. Watch out the first one is really bright!

DD in her new Polka Dot outfit. Oh my how she loved those polka dots. I thought it was the cutest little outfit EVAH!

My base c/s is melon mambo. Behind the photo I used green galore and lovely lilac c/s. My title is made with chipboard tiles, white, foam thickers, green glitter thickers and die cut letters.
I made the big flower at the bottom. You just use scrap c/s and paper and cut them randomly, crumple and distress. I added a clear button to the middle with some lime thread. I adore the lacy ribbon on this page. It is from a Fancy Ribbon pack called Holly Jolly. Leave it to me to use Christmas themed ribbon on a bright and cheery page! The other button at the bottom is from a 3 pk. I got at Wal-Mart. I added a few stickles and some more chipboard accents. Oh yeah, how do you like my random pink pearls? I think they finished the page nicely.

This next page was very simple to put together

Aaron got a little bored so he entertained us while we waited for our table. What a character!
My base is soft suede c/s. The patterned paper is from a DCWV stack. I "boo-booed" on my inking on the upper right hand side of the page sooooo, I cut a few kraft circles, inked and distressed them to cover it up. The title and journaling is computer generated. I gathered my sheer olive green ribbon at the bottom and then added another handmade flower. With this one I used kraft c/s, the same paper some thin ribbon strips and a glittery, fabric piece.
Thanks for coming by today! God bless you and I hope you have a great weekend!

Gotta go, lots to do...

Until next time...

Yummy Card Candy!

Hello ladies! I'm so sorry I've not posted sooner. It's almost been a week!!!!! Oh My!
Easter and all it's wonderful activities took over! :)
We had a great weekend, full of family get-togethers and some great meals!

I don't know if I have posted on my blog about my weight loss "journey" I am on this year. I started living a healthier life January 1st. Yes, a New Year's Resolution and it has paid off. Year to date I have lost 31 pounds! I am keeping my calories at 1400 a day or below and I MOVE everyday. My "moving" does not include a lot of sweating, I hate sweating, but it's a lot of walking, light weight lifting and Pilates. If you've not tried Pilates, you must! It's wonderful :)

Anyway, let's get to the crafty part of the post today...

I love, love, love making card/page candy! It's so easy to add to your projects.
This set I took advantage of my Big Shot with the Beautiful Wings embosslit and the Top Note die. I absolutely love old olive and pretty in pink together. With this set I added in some melon mambo too.

Thanks so much for visiting!

Until next time...
