VSD Challenge #1

Good Evening everyone! Here goes another weekend. But it will be the last week of school before Holiday break! Yippeeee!
Today I participated in a Virtual Stamp Day with my bloggy sisters. Crafty Critters blog group had a VSD this afternoon. This was my first Virtual stamping event. I had fun...I just wish I would have had more time to play :) I was very busy with activities at Church, so I wasn't able to chit chat the entire time. I was able to work the first 2 challenges. Here is #1.
Our challenge was to make a monocramatic card and make it Christmas themed...

I started with old olive c/s. Then layered very vanilla c/s and Merry Moments dsp. Then a 3"x3" vanilla panel with the snowflake from Snow Swirled in old olive ink. Some misc. velvet brads and a sentiment in old olive ink finished it off. The snowflake panel is on with pop dots. This was a card after my own heart....I love CAS and only using 2 colors (one being neutral) is right up my alley :)
Next, we had to make a card using paper piecing and it had to be Christmas themed....

Okay, I had a slight problem with this seeing as how I don't have any Christmas themed stamps that are easily cut into sections for paper piecing. So, I started with old olive c/s again then used some more Merry Moments dsp and the tree stamp from Snow Swirled. I stamped it in old olive ink on very vanilla c/s and then once on the MM dsp. I cut all the images out and layered them. Some sheer vanilla & red ribbon with a crumpled and inked sentiment finish this card off. I hope this is close enough to paper piecing to qualify.

I've got one other challenge to upload...
Be right back...
