First Cocoa Daisy Order and Layout

Hi everybody!
I hope your week is going well. Have you had a chance to get in your crafty space and create? I have and it feels great!

I received some awesome goodies this week. One being my very first order from Cocoa Daisy
I sat right down and got to work with my bounty. I was too late in ordering to get the full kits from April and May so I had to settle for the grab bags of “bits and pieces”. We’ll settle is not the correct word because these grab bags are awesome!
Here’s my first creation and I plan to decorate some planner pages with some of the rest....

Okay so first off that little typewriter die cut?! Love it! So of course my journaling had to be typed! I had a great time playing with this first Cocoa Daisy shipment and can’t wait to start receiving my pocket page subscription each month!

Until next time...
Blessings...

One Day at a Time ~ Creative Journaling

Hey everybody!
How’s your week so far?
I love that it’s actually feeling like spring around here. Now if it would just stopped raining for I don’t know...a day or so......I could actually walk in the yard without getting muddy! Ha!

I wanted to share some creative journaling I just finished. I love writing about my Lord!

Journaling is a love I’ve nurtured for many years. I was 8 or 9 when I started my first diary. That yearning to write has never left me. It’s just gotten a little more artsy over the years. I love books and pretty things....shabby chic things so traveler’s notebooks are the way to journal for me. :)

Thanks for stopping by! I appreciate you!

Until next time...

This House Believes......the start of a mini album

Hi everybody!
How’s your weekend going? It’s been so rainy here in Alabama. It’s just miserable outside. So, more  time to spend in the craft room right?! Ha!

I’m working on a 5x7 mini album. This size is great to add 4x6 pics in and have a mat all around. Pic on one side of the page and journaling on the other! Love it!
I’m using the Simple Stories collection “Faith” and it goes right along with the weekend challenge over at the Scrapbooking with M.E. Boutique Members group on FB. It’s a color challenge.
This was what we were given:

and here’s the cover to my mini album:

Did I get close or what?! LOL All the papers came from Simple Stories. I fussy cut the feathers from one of the papers in the collection. The Pom Pom trim and enamel dots are from Felicity Jane Studios.

Thanks for stopping by!

Until next time...

New Traveler’s Notebook and a Layout

Hi out there! It’s me! Melina!
:) :) :)

I hope your week has been outstanding. I did lots of yard work yesterday. I got most all my flowers planted in containers, watered and placed where I think I want them. That of course could change at any moment. Ha! Next will be getting the vegetable garden ready. I love warmer weather and getting in the yard.....being productive!

I wanted to share a project I finished not too long ago and shared on Instagram.. I’m loving traveler’s notebooks right now! I got this Prima personal size one from scrapbookingwithme.com. I love the size. The cover is very durable and it’s gorgeous! I mean floral is all the rage right now. This book does not disappoint!

I love to just sit and look at it! I know, I’m odd. Ha ha ha!

I have a few inserts (notebooks) inside. I use this traveler’s notebook  mostly for church/sermon notes. But I also have one insert for creative journaling. That’s just a fancy way of saying I add more to my journaling than just words. Hee! Hee!

Some call this junk journaling. Others may call it art journaling. Whatever you call it, I love it! Sometimes a 12x12 canvas for a scrapbook page is just too overwhelming. This size is just right to get your thoughts on paper and add a few personal touches as well.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!

Until next time...

Where Have I Been?!!!

Well hello everybody!
Of course I don’t know how many of you are out there anymore since it’s been three years since I last posted here!!!! Whaaaaa?!
That’s just ridiculous Melina! What in the world?! Ha ha!

To tell you the truth????? Instagram became my baby. It’s so easy posting there. It’s easy.....and I got lazy.....keeping my blog up to date.
If you’d like to follow me on Instagram: @mecraftyscrapper

I’m going to commit to a post a week here. If more posts happen to pop up great! But I want to get back to my blog. I love this little place of mine and can’t believe I went so long without visiting!

My posts will be different from before though. I’m not so much into card crafting anymore. I’m not saying I’ll never post another card again! I’m just looking at posting more variety on my blog. I still love to scrapbook traditional pages and pocket type scrapping. My love of mini albums is still very strong too! I’ve also fell in love with creative journaling, and traveler’s notebooks. I have more than I care to admit! So a lot of my future posts will be scrapbook and journal related with a few handmade mini albums and cards sprinkled in.

Of course our kiddos have grown so much since I last posted. So I think that’s what I’ll start us off with.....an updated family pic. My next post will be a crafty one!

Until next time...
Blessings...

Summer Fun with the Dueling Darlings!

HI everyone!
We are having a great time "dueling" in SplitCoastStampers! The Darlings are at it again. This round we were to create a Summer themed......anything but a card! :)

I am in LOVE with pocket letters!!!!!
They were created by the fabulous Janette Lane. You can find her blog HERE.
If you've never heard of them, don't worry, the concept was just "discovered" back in February. Visit Janette' blog for more details of see her videos on YouTube. You also need to check out AnnMarie's blog (she is how I found out about them!) HERE. Scroll down her blog and see all the pocket letter glory! WOWZERS!

Take a sleeve, you know the ones made for baseball card collecting?!!!! Then add 2.5"x3.5" decorated cards (also known as ATCs). Add goodies to the back (or front if you wish), add a letter to one pocket and mail to a pal! :) :) :)

It's so fun!
Here are a few I've made (I'm working on my 27th right now and only started the last of March LOL)
The butterflies on this pocket letter remind me of summer.
(This one I recently sent to AnnMarie)

Of course a garden theme reminds me of summer!

and these bright colors on this PL and memories of catching lightning bugs in mason jars,
remind me of summer!

I loved the theme this round for the Dueling Darling challenge!
Thanks ladies for thinking outside the "card". :)

Be sure to visit all the other Dueling Darlings blogs. There is a list in my left sidebar.

Until next time...
Blessings...

Dueling Darlings ~ I Picked a Flower for You!

Hello everyone!

I'm so happy to say it is time to post another creation for the Dueling Darlings group. This round Tami was the hostess for the Divas and I was for the Dazzlers. We had fun coming up with what we were to challenge the ladies with and we even threw in a little twist.
Our kits consisted of an image with flowers and of course papers, card stocks and embellishments but one embellishment in particular the ladies HAD to include in their creations......a piece of green ribbon.

Here's what I came up with:

This cute little image is from Whimsy Stamps called Fistful of Flowers.
I colored her with my Spectrum markers. I then went crazy with my sprays on the image and the sentiment (CTMH set Sweet & Lovely) piece.....both were stamped on white card stock. :)
I can't wait to check out all the other Darlings creations!
Thank you so much for stopping by my blog.

Until next time...
Blessings...
