Scraps Are My Friend!

Hello all!
I hope you are having a great week.
Over the weekend I made this card and wanted to use my scraps for the weaving I created....

I love, love, love using up my scraps! My rubbermaid container is overflowing. Okay, it's not one of those big ones but a 12x12" maybe 5 inches deep full to the brim with little pieces of treasures just waiting to be used. I am getting better about what scraps I keep though. My mother, bless her soul, keeps it all! If a scrap has lots of punched out places or is smaller than 2"x2".....it goes in the garbage. I just don't have room in my little crafty spot to keep it all anymore.
Anyway, getting back to the card....EHEM.....my base is vanilla with a kraft pierced and distressed layer. The dp is from My Mind's Eye. The other strips are pretty in pink and green galore (yes, I still have bits of that color lying around! LOL) The hearts and circle (with piercing also) are punched (3 heart punch SU! and CM circle punch) I inked the hearts edges with pretty in pink ink. Oh and the heart colors are vanilla and tan.
Okay, now for the truth on the sentiment piece. I love how the distressed little snippet turned out but it is not how I started out. I stamped directly onto the kraft with chocolate chip ink with the SU! Petite Pairs set and of course it was not straight! It's even a clear mount set! LOL! So I stamped it again on a piece of scrap Kraft and distressed it a little then hid my "boo, boo" Yay for me!
I really like the softness of this and that's the main reason I went with a baby theme.
Challenges I'm entering:
Going with the baby theme also got me a chance to play along with the latest Cupcake Craft Challenge ~ Cupcake 174 - Something New....Not only with the sentiment but also for the fact that I've never weaved c/s or dp on my creations. :)
Also, I am playing along with The Pink Elephant Challenge this week TPE130 ~ Use hearts on your creations
And lastly (but not leastly), The Paper Players challenge this week is (theme) - All you need is Love! #77
Yay! Three challenges 1 card...SUCCESS! :D

Here's a little "advice" I came across a couple months ago. "Keep a hymn in your heart and your day will go so much better!" and once a hymn gets in my heart it usually comes from my lips with a hum also. :)
Have a wonderful day!

Until next time...
Blessings...

Melina

Oh I love this Melina! What a sweet woven design, with the prettiest colors. Your oops is totally unnoticeable! The kraft sentiment looks right where it should be. ;) Wonderful advice, I started my morning with a song and the rest of the day harmonized well with it. Thank you so much for joining in on our hearts challenge at TPE!
