Hello! Thank you for visiting.
It's time once again to get into a Duel with some Darling friends.
The Dueling Darlings are a group of ladies on SCS. This month our hostesses are LJ for the Divas and Terry for the Dazzlers.
I am a Dazzler (GO TEAM). Terry sent us a great masculine kit. I love this SU! image...I don't have this set, so it gives me a few extra to play with too!
Stamp set: SU! On the Fly
Metal Accent: Paper Studio
Shiny Dots: Colorbok
She sent the black and white patterned papers. Also, some things she sent I didn't have a chance to use: Ribbon and mini brads from Michael's.
I added a strip of black card stock and some Marina Mist card stock. The green thread, I just bought yesterday and thought it went well to bring out the green in the trees. (thread made my Peaches and Cream) I decided to use the rectangle accent like a lure. Ummm, well, that was my intentions. Looks, of course, like a charm....but a manly charm! LOL! My sentiment is from SU! Fundamental Phrases...stamped in Marina Mist ink.
I colored my image with Copics and Watercolor pencils.
The clouds and sky are made with a sponge dauber, bashful blue ink and a white gel pen.
The sun is masked with crumb cake and so saffron inks.
I added some birds flying around the trees and remembered this time to make the trees reflections in the water! Yay me :)
I hope you like my creation. I will be giving this to my son for his birthday coming up in June. Terry and LJ wanted us to say a little something about "our man". Well, of course my great husband is my man but there is a little man I would like to honor in this post, our son, Aaron. As most of you know, Aaron is Autistic and struggles with a language disorder. He is almost 12, as tall as I am! and loves everybody! He is making great strides in school, but of course can't wait until Summer so he can "Ride the Scooter" everyday (his words....he loves that thing!).
Just recently my husband took Aaron fishing with a family friend. They went out on his boat and oh my goodness, Aaron had a ball. It was the first time he had ever been on a boat. He knows how to swim so he wasn't frightened. He loved wearing the life jacket and his new sunglasses. Here's a pic of our "little man" from that day.
You know, since he's as tall as I am, I guess we could take the "little" off the front. Nope! He'll always be my little guy. :) I love you AARON!
Thank you for stopping by. Please go check out the other Darlings creations. Their blog links are located in my left sidebar.
Until next time...
Blessings...
