Comb-overs, Stubble and Recliners....Ahhhhh the Holidays!

Hi everybody!

It's time once again for the Dueling Darlings to create! Our challenge this month is very masculine. The Dazzlers hostess, Darlene, sent us a great "man's" card kit.

Here's what I made with it:

worn out, very loved recliners, stains on clothes, facial stubble, comb-overs and football......
Yep, I know it's the Holidays! LOL
My father in law sports a nice come-over but usually wears a hat. But, during the holidays, no hat, we get to see it in all it's glory.
My Dad's favorite place in the house is his worn out recliner with a bag of lay's potato chips beside him. After eating a huge Thanksgiving meal, he's usually asleep, *giggle*
My husband loves to let the facial hair grow, usually on the weekends while watching lots and lots of football.
So, I made my image a combination of all the guys in my life. LOL

Thanks Darlene for a cute kit! I can't wait to see what my Sistah' Dazzlers made and my friend/enemies (hee hee), the Divas made.

Be sure to check out their blogs listed in my left sidebar.

Thanks for stopping by.

Until next time...

Scraps of Masculinity with Flowers!

Hello!
I recently mailed my cards for the CAS Flowers and CAS Masculine swap over on SCS hosted by Patty (LaLatty).
I love the CAS style so when I saw her swap....I had to join!

Here's my card for the Flower group:
I am so proud of my Spellbinders Deckle set. I found it at Hobby Lobby on the clearance aisle! I love a good bargain. My flower image is from a muse studio, Beautiful Botanicals 2 set. The sentiment is from SU! Fundamental Phrases set.

Now, here's the warning for the this masculine card. I am NO GOOD at masculine. Why I make this a big deal I don't know. I heard someone say, we fret over the cards of which have the least critics! :) That's so true.
Here's my Scraps of Masculinity:
With the name, you can guess that I used all scraps on this card. The brown paper...well, I've been hoarding that 6" square piece for a long while. It was given to me so I don't know the vendor. It looks like Bazzil. It has lots of texture and looks like leather. I thought it would be a great addition to this masculine creation. The sentiment is from SU! Thank You Kindly set. Now, I couldn't resist adding some pearls. I thought since they were brown....it wouldn't hurt! :)

Thank you Patty for a great swap! I can't wait to see the cards I get back!

Thank you for stopping by today!

Until next time...
Blessings...

Oh Good Grief!!

That title sums up all the frustrations I've had the last month.
We've just gotten our dial-up....yes, I said dial-up internet hooked up! Can you believe that? I thought they had done away with that years ago! (no I actually know it's still around, I just don't like having to use it!) All the DSL ports in our area (our area at the new house) are taken up. We're on a waiting list with AT&T to get DSL as soon as a port opens up. There is no other providers in this area, believe me I've called them all.
Then, if having to deal with slow dial-up wasn't enough my computer is acting up. It's that crazy Vista! I'm having to use our old laptop to get on the internet. The newer one won't run the latest version of Adobe Flashplayer and won't run the one that's on it. And, we all know with no Adobe the internet is pretty much worthless!
Well, enough of my sad, sob story. I'm able to get back on my blog now and that's what I was wanting to do all along. I'm glad to be back. I hope it'll get back to normal.....whatever normal is! LOL!
I missed the deadline to post our Competing Princesses card (last day of the month). I had it done, just couldn't get it uploaded. So, Terria....here's what I made with your very cute kit! I never have enough masculine cards around. Thanks for giving me the tools to make one!
Okay, so this is more of a scrapbook accent I'm gonna use in my scrapbooks than a card. (it doesn't open, LOL!) When Terria sent the kit, she had knotted the twine. I left the knot b/c I loved it! The only thing I added was the hemp twine at the top right. All the rest came from her great kit!
It feels good to be able to post again! Thanks for hanging around ;) You all are the best.
Until next time...
Blessings...
