What about these colors?

Hey everybody! I hope you're all having a great week.

I'm behind on my card challenges! This card follows a sketch from Ravengirl over on SCS. She's this week's Featured Stamper Congrats Toni!!!

This card also goes along with this week's ColourQ challenge #43.

Now I would have never, ever put these colors together, okay, yes I would have put everything but the bermuda bay (not one of my faves) together. Thanks ColourQ for helping me step outside my box!

Here's the card I came up with...

Supplies:
Card stock: bermuda bay (retired), peach parfait, early espresso, old olive, white
Ink: old olive, pumpkin pie
Stamps: Sanded, Silhouette Sentiments
Accessories: Big Shot machine, beautiful wings embosslit, paper trimmer, score blade, SU! bright collection button, linen thread, half pearls, circle punches

Can you tell I used my linen thread to create the middle butterflies antennas? It's hard to see up against the sanded b/g.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Until next time...

...Loves Me....Loves Me Not....

Hello! Thanks for visiting today :)

Today I wanted to share with you a card I made following this week's Cupcake Inspiration Challenge. I'm always amazed at the creations Colleen, Piali, Rachel and Teresa showcase each week.

Here's our beautiful, inspirational cupcake...

And, here's what I created...

The image is Tilda with flower by Magnolia and the brown dp is K & Company, classic. These, along with the blue felt flower and silver flower brad were a kit given to me by Tanja (3boysathome over at SCS). I added some yellow dp from Creative Memories and used my eyelet border punch, then crumpled it. I added some bashful blue ribbon to the yellow panel and twine to the button to finish the card. Tilda is colored with watercolor pencils.

Have a great day!

Until next time...

CCC #29

Well, it's in the nick of time...

Lesley hosted our Crafty Critters challenge #29. She challenged us to make a Christmas card with at least 1 pastel color, a snowflake, ribbon and button.

I decided to go all pastel. I've never attempted that on a Christmas card and I'm not sure I'm liking it, but, it is very soft and girlie :)
My snowflake image is from the SU! set Snow Swirled. My sentiment is also SU!

Other challenges I'm entering:
Cupcake Craft Challenge ~ Pastel Christmas
Pile It On ~ Plastic or stretchy (my plastic button)

Until next time...

Birthday Pages for Aaron

Is it Sunday already?! Wow, I can't believe we're this far into July. School is just around the corner for my kiddos and I'm a little sad. We've had fun this Summer.

We have a couple Summer birthdays in our house. Our son's and my hubbys.

Here's pages I did the other day from Aaron's 8th birthday (2008). Yeah, that's how far behind I am. I'm a chronological scrapbooker....can't scrapbook out of order to save my life! Unless, I have pics I'm saving to do their own scrapbook. Like, beach pics for a beach album. As long as all of my pics are together, in order, Mama is soooooo happy :-)

Anyway, here's the double page spread....

Now, I NEVER do white c/s as my background but for these colorful pics, I went with it. I used a border set I received in a swap. I cut the journaling circle to be split between the pages.

And here's the page to go after the one above...

Horrible pic I know. I took it too far away and had to crop in on it and so now it looks grainy. Sorry.
For this page I went really "busy". I'm usually not like that but for these pics, I thought it was okay. If you can tell, my title is sideways, "Fun Presents" and the number 8 is in the bottom left corner (8th birthday).

Thank you for visiting my blog!

Until next time...
Blessings...

Face Painting

Hello!

Today I'm sharing another scrapbook page. This page really just came together after I looked at the sketch over on SCS....

I had 5x7 pics of our kiddos from a day of fun at the "depot days" celebration in our town. They had gotten their faces painted and both were so proud. :-) They wanted me to take pics of the painting before they rubbed them off! hahaha....smart kids!
My background c/s is Cherry Cobbler. The patterned c/s is from a DCWV stack. The circles are Marina Mist c/s and behind the smaller white letters is....one of my favorites....Old Olive.

Have a great day!

Until next time...

Wheel Work and Pastels

Do you have a stamp supply that you haven't used in a while? I have some SU! wheel stamps that I NEVER use. They are forgotten in my drawer. I haven't bought any in a while either, but, the SU! new catalog has some really cute ones!!!

So, for this card I used my Sandy Speckles wheel on the middle panel. I stamped it in my versamark pad and then colored it with my chalks/pastels....

I love the look of chalking over versamark!
I also got this SU! stamp out. It has a 2004 date. But, I don't know what set it's from. It must be a stamp I bought on EBAY years ago. Does anyone know what set it comes from?
My ink colors are garden green, old olive and certainly celery.
The sentiment is from the Watercolor Trio set.

Thanks for stopping by!

Until next time...

Look at those Smiles....

Hiya!
The start of a new week. I hope yours is filled with blessings!

Today I wanted to share a scrapbook page with you...

Now, I'll be the first to tell you I'm not a huge fan of 1 picture on a 12x12 layout. But, this pic is 5x7 and I couldn't help drawing attention to my kiddos' big, cheesy grins! If you haven't realized already....I love simple. But, if you've really been paying attention, you'll have also noticed that I LOVE punches! You should see my collection. For this layout I used a circle punch and star punch. The letters are from a stack that's pre-cut, with a sticky back. They're all in black and white designs.
I've been working my way through the scrapbook sketches over on SCS. Sally really does work hard to bring us a new one each week. She has some great ideas. I think this one is #147.

Thanks so much for visiting my today!

Until next time...

I created this card for my CAS guest DT spot over on SCS last month.

You Are So....

SWEET! for visiting my blog! :)

This is a page made using a sketch from Sketchy Thursdays.

Sketchy Thursdays is looking for an August Guest Designer.
To apply, you have to use this sketch along with adding something yellow and a handmade embellishment.
I have yellow in my patterned papers and my embellishment is the piece in the upper left corner. I used my scallop circle punch, 1.25" circle punch, beautiful wings embosslit and half pearls to make it.
I love these pics of Bethany. She had so much fun in the water spout playground at Dollywood (TN).

Have a great day!

Until next time...

Crabby Paradise

Hello peoples!
How are you....I hope all is well! :)

I made this card for a swap I'm in on SCS. The Paradise swap hosted my Forest Ranger.

I used natural white as my base and a piece of dp made by Creative Imaginations. It's very fun paper. It has a plastic feel to it and it has some shimmer. The crab stamp is from SU!'s It's the Thought. I colored him with a real red marker but didn't color his sad mouth. I stamped him then drew on my own happy mouth. I mean he is in Paradise after all. He couldn't have a sad face! The leaf is from the SU! Paradise stamp set (how fitting). The ribbon is some that April (aprillower), hey girl, sent me. I used some misc. white brads to finish off my sentiment piece punched with the modern label and large oval punches.

I'm off to do some more crafting!

Until next time...
Blessings...

Window card....but not what you think!

I made a window card today that is my simple style.

Over at our Critter challenge blog, Marsha is hosting our latest challenge....make a recessed window card. Oh my, the instructions for this card over on SCS were.....well challenging! I didn't get a card made with those instructions. I was pulling my hair out! I did get a window card done though.....using clean and simple rules :-)
You know me....I make it SIMPLE!
Sorry Marsha! I hope this can "sort of" fit in the challenge.

This card also goes along with today CAS and Try a new Technique challenges over on SCS. Dry embossing and emboss on embossing.

I cut a piece of Rose Red dsp after I punched "windows" in a piece of white card stock with my circle punch. I then ran it through my big shot with the patterns 2 texture plate, then distressed it. I cut a scallop circle from white card stock and ran it through my big shot with the eyelet texture plate. I added a vintage brad and a sentiment from Thank You Kindly.

Thanks for stopping by!

Until next time...

Daddy's Birthday!

Today is my husband's birthday!

Happy Birthday BABY!!!!

This is a picture from our group (gospel singing group) shots last year. Ain't he purdy?!!

I thought it would be nice to share a scrapbook page of Father's Day (from 2008)...of him and the kiddos too.

This page is from a sketch on SCS.

He would die to know these pics were on my blog! He has lost so much weight since these were taken.

Okay one more and I'm finished....
(can you tell I'm proud of him?)

This picture is from this Father's day (2010). We were at his parents' house. I had to crop the pic down quite a bit to get just him in it. :)

He would also die to know his tie was that loose! Oh well, we had just ate....he was relaxed....then we all got our cameras out for "Daddy" pictures *tee hee*

I love you Brandon! ~Happy Birthday~

Thanks for visiting my blog today.

Until next time...

Finally...back to my craft desk!

Hey everybody!!!!
I finally made it back to my craft desk! It's been almost a week. I was having withdrawals :)

The card I'm sharing with you today is very girlie....I mean really, really, girlie! I hope you can stand all the pink *giggle*

I used the stamp set Perfect Punches.
I didn't want to thread my button so I put a Kaiser pink pearl on top of it. It gave it a little different look...huh?
This is my first card using my green gingham ribbon I got from Hobby Lobby.

Thanks so much for visiting. I promise my next post will be soon. (I'm off to schedule it now!)

Until next time...

Just a' Scrappin'

It's the Saturday before 4th of July. Wow, where did June go? I hope you already have everything you need for tomorrow. The crowds at the grocery store are sure to be awful!

Today, I wanted to share a couple of scrapbook pages I finished last month. I'm still way behind and still scrappin' our trip to Savannah, GA. I only have about 8 more pics of that vacation and I'll be through. Yay!

This page I used my smooch spritz (log cabin) for the first time. I love it! For my journaling piece I layered the top note die. One width ways and one long ways. I like how that looks.

Next...

I copied this layout straight from the Stampin' Success magazine. I love rose red with basic black. Great contrast of colors. I also loved these pics of DD on the beach. Black and white beach pictures are my favorite!

Thanks so much for stopping by today and I hope to have a 4th of July card posted for you tomorrow.

Until next time...
Blessings...

First Day to Order New SU! Stuff!!!!!

Hello!
I'm so excited because today is the first day of the new Stampin' Up! year. It is the first day to order from the new Idea Book and Catalog too! Yay! I'm excited about the new stamp sets and accessories available with this catalog. I've made my wish list and I think I have my priorities of which will be ordered first.....I think.... ;-) decisions, decisions...

I'm sharing a card with you today that features one of our new sets.....Perfect Punches.

The sentiment piece is from the new set. There are beautiful stamps in that set made just for punching out! I love those!
The card base is our new Early Espresso card stock. The rose from the Fifth Ave. Floral set is stamped on Natural white card stock with old olive ink. The butterflies are from the For All You Do stamp set stamped in old olive ink also. I adhered a piece of old olive card stock to the inside of the card with the same rose stamped on the corner so it would show through the punched circles. For a little added pizazz, I looped old olive satin ribbon through the circles and then tied them with some cream thread/floss.

I love this rich color combo. I hope you do too :-)

Until next time...
Blessings...
