My Exciting News and a Blog Hop!

Hi all!
Lookie what I have to share with you!

********************************************

Welcome to Red Carpet Studio's One Year Anniversary Celebration!! We're starting the party off right with a blog hop, but don't forget we also have games and prizes going on in our Facebook event group

This weekend our design team is sharing with you inspiring projects for movie nights! Invitations, decorations, and more, you'll leave the hop wanting to have a movie night of your very own.

If you've come from Robin's Blog, you're in the right place! If you'd like to start at the beginning of the hop, please visit Red Carpet Studio.

Did you notice we are having a new Design Team Reveal?
I'm part of the NEW! :)
Yep,
I'm so excited to be working with this very talented group of ladies!

For this wonderful blog hop I made this....
Using the "blond bombshell" image from our wonderful Sponsor Kenny K.
I printed the invitation to go along with the infamous image. I added baker's twine and sequins to the front and then melon mambo cardstock and some Paper Studio black and white to back the whole thing.

Movie night wouldn't be complete without....
 POPCORN!
I used my Cricut for the background ticket and circles. I used the TH ticket and film strip dies for the other pieces. The papers are from the echo park Love Story collection. I added the word with a CTMH stamp set and then some sequins and doodles to finish it off. I used glue dots to adhere this to a plastic cup of popcorn.

Also, for our Facebook promotion I made these cuties using the images provided by our wonderful sponsor: Sherri Baldy Stamps

What party would be complete without a sign on the front door welcoming your guests? :)

(close up of the images)
and then a little parting treat as they leave? :)

This weekend (and our challenges) wouldn't be anything without our fabulous sponsors! Those who comment on every stop of the hop are eligible to win these wonderful prizes:

12x12 Disney Specialty Paper

"That's Entertainment" Stamp Set

Shabby Birthday Wishes

Hello!
thanks for visiting me

Here's a birthday card I made using a Tim Holtz die and my Big Shot.

I used the pic inspiration over at The Shabby Tea Room
You have to use the colors in the photo as inspiration, plus use material and flowers on your creation. I used tulle material on the dress form along with twine and ribbon and lace behind the form. I used a piece of flower trim for the tiny broach.

I have just found their blog and love the ideas over there! :)

Until next time...

Pink as All Outdoors!

Hello!

My daughter's birthday is Friday (23rd) and over at Twisted Tuesdays we have included a couple of her favorite things in the challenge this round to celebrate!

The challenge is to use the color pink (Her favorite color). The twist is we want to see some outdoor things on your creation....because Bethany LOVES playing outside. :)

Here's what I made:

This is her birthday card.
I used the cupcake monkey image from C.C. Designs.
The flower and butterfly (my outdoor things) are from Prima.
The sentiment is from a Hampton Art set.
I colored the image with Spectrum markers.

Thanks so much!

I'm also entering this at:
(my melon mambo and pink patterned papers are from my scrap pile, along with the white and kraft piece on my sentiment)
(this is the first time I have inked this little monkey up since I bought it last month)

Until next time...
Blessings...

Scraps of Happy Thoughts

Hi all!

I'm back again with a card.
I made this card with scraps of patterned paper I recently used on a layout. I thought the balloons went along great with the sentiment :)

I used three different punches on the sentiment piece.
Even my buttons are "scraps" they were left over from another project....just laying on my craft desk.
The paper is from echo park and the sentiment is from CTMH.

I am entering this at:

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Until next time...
Blessings...

Let's Duel at School!

Hi all!

I'm back for another Dueling Darling challenge. We have a group over on Splitcoaststampers with two teams, the Divas and Dazzlers. (I'm a Dazzler) Terry is our Dazzler hostess this month. LJ is the Diva's hostess.

Here's some details from Terry:

THEME: "Fall Kick-off"
LJ suggested to put together kits with a fall kick-off theme.....not specifically football, but anything that would start the fall season. I chose to put together a school themed kit for you all to work with, I hope you all enjoy it!
In your blog post, please share with us a favorite memory of the fall season!
Your kits include:
Image: Stampabilities: House Mouse "Smarty Pants" stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper: Recollections: "Back to School" paper pack
Bakers Twine: Target dollar spot
Candi Dots: Craftworks
 Ribbon: Michaels

Now, I must say that this month is not a favorite month around our house, all because of school starting. Our kids love being home. They love going on little summer "adventures" and know those go away with the start of school :( August does redeem itself on the 23rd though.....that's Bethany's birthday :)
I like August because it puts everyone back on schedule. I'm a very "to do" list and schedule oriented person. It gives me hives (well almost) during the summer when hubby walks through the door and says "let's go to _____________ this weekend" or "let's go camping, how fast can we get ready". ha ha ha! I know it should thrill me but it just gives me anxiety. I need to know way ahead of time so I can plan and make to do lists and worry. *giggle*
So, when I saw the kit from Terry, I LOVED it....but also thought.....**gulp** SCHOOL TIME.....ewwwwwww. :) Thank you Terry for this cute kit. I love the image and all those school themed papers you sent!
Here's what I made:
I used the spotlight technique on the image and colored that circle with Spectrum markers. I wanted to make the rest of the image look "antique" so I used lots of distress inks and then the SU! so saffron ink pad in the middle. Since I couldn't get all the papers used in a big way on my card, I decided to mimic the spotlight circle by adding a few on the edge of the image from the papers in the kit.

Now, for my Fall memory:
I believe one of my favorites (it's hard to chose just one because Fall is my favorite season) is when we stopped one day at a road side pumpkin patch one of our local churches was having. We let the kids pick out a pumpkin and I was getting all kinds of pictures of them and hubby. I thought "I really wish we could have a family picture made out here" but of course it was just us....no one else around that we knew. I'm not a forward person as far as asking someone I don't know for something, but that day.....I got up the courage. I asked the woman behind the cash table if she would mind getting a picture of us in the patch (my heart was racing asking her). She said "of course I don't mind, that would be great". That picture is one of my favorites of us together and I'm so glad I had courage that day to ask a stranger to do something for me.

I am entering my card at the Red Carpet Studios Challenge:
School of Rock! ~ Back to school card
and at Paper Time Tuesdays #133
Back to School

Well, that's my post.....sorry it is very lengthy.
I can't wait to visit my Dueling Sisters blogs to see what fun Fall creations they made!

Until next time...
