Hello ladies! How in the world are ya?
I hope you're having a wonderful week. Mine is well...pretty eye opening. We had another student added to our special needs class this week. That makes for a grand total of 19 Special Needs students (6th-8th grade with all different levels of dependent needs) IN ONE ROOM! Can you say WOW! Oh my, OH MY! :)

Well, let's get to the crafty part of this post...
Here's another couple of pages I did over the weekend.

Our little DD was super excited about PJ Day! This was Spring 2008...Geezzzz how she's grown!

I really appreciate you stopping by today!

Until next time...

My First Easel Card!

Okay...
I'll be the first to say, I made Easel cards out to be very difficult. They looked difficult when I first say them on SCS. I am not a "difficult" kind of girl. Okay maybe with some of my scrapbooking but not with cards. You see, I don't have many people that would appreciate "difficult" cards. I think that is the main reason I am a clean and simple gal. I hate the thoughts of a card I send being thrown in the garbage after it is received and looked at. I decided I would keep this card for my very own! I'm going to display it on my TV cabinet.
This card is for our Crafty Critter blog group challenge, #24 hosted by April. Our requirements were...
Make an Easel card AND (recipe)...
1. thing that glitters
2. ribbons
3. layers (at least)...so layer that card up!!!
4. colors...colors on your image, on your DP, on the ribbon whatever...just as long as there are 4 different colors on your card!
Oh and, we had to enter it in at least 1 other challenge.

It's also for this week's Cute Card Thursday challenge to use dimension.

Sorry about the off center pic. My camera I just got at Christmas has stopped working, it will not come on. Wal-Mart will not take it back. So, I had to use my old Kodak camera with the broken viewfinder/screen. I can't see what I'm taking a picture of or what angle I'm taking it at so I just have to guess and then try and crop it on the computer. Don't you feel sorry for me? I'm going next week to get a Canon. I have a 35mm Canon with lots of bells and whistles, extension lens and everything that I've never had a problem with so I'm going to try a digital one.

Everything on this card is SU! I started with Old Olive c/s. I layered with brilliant blue, pumpkin pie, barely banana and Welcome Neighbors ds papers. (that's about 5 colors, April :))
I stamped the leaf stamp from Refuge and Strength on the bottom piece of dsp. Then used my scallop circle punch and smaller circle punch, crumpled them up then stamped 'friend' (fundamental phrases set) in versamark ink and embossed with iridescent ice ep (there's my glitter).
I used old olive satin ribbon and linen thread in the middles of my scallop circle flowers (hope linen thread counts as a ribbon here...ummmmm....I hope)
I used way more than 3 layers....I thought that was going to be my biggest challenge being the CAS girl that I am but it wasn't so bad :)
The sentiment is from Refuge and Strength stamp set. I used a stamp from Itty Bitty backgrounds in pumpkin pie and old olive ink on barely banana c/s. Then stamped the sentiment in chocolate chip.

Thanks for visiting today!

Until next time...

A little blog candy, while catching up on Scrapping!

Finally....the end of the week! I love that feeling I get on Friday afternoon....no work tomorrow....resting....CRAFTING! :)
I am so behind on my scrapbooking. I feel awful that I've been focusing more on cards than my precious pages. Scrapbooking is what got me into paper crafting. It is my first love...but I've strayed away...now it's time to get my rear in gear! This is a page I did last week. This is our little DD at Easter (2008)...

My base is Kraft c/s. I used a chipboard flourish and butterfly. I crumbled some bashful blue and certainly celery c/s and put them on randomly. I added some white ribbon (wrapped around the page), white flowers and buttons and some white doodles around the pics. Oh and I aged the edges of my page with some soft suede ink using sponge daubers.

**How about you? How far behind are you on your scrapbooks? For everyone that answers this question, when they leave a comment, I'll put your name in a hat for a chance to win some blog candy! I'll send the winner some scrappy things to help them catch up! :) Join me as a follower and get your name added a second time! You have until Sunday (March 28th)**

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Until next time...

CAS59~MOJO131~ Show Stopper!

Hello everyone!
...Having a good week? I sure hope so :)
Today I'd like to share with you a card I made using this week's Mojo Monday sketch and the Clean and Simple challenge #59 over on SCS. The theme for that challenge is New York, New York. We were to use it as inspiration. The first thing that came to mind was Glamorous Broadway Shows and Black Tie Affairs...

On a piece of black textured c/s, I used some silver c/s from my scrap box. I've had this paper for years. It is textured, almost crumpled c/s and very shiny. I love it and am treasuring every last piece I have. I used a large square punch with the silver then used a smaller punch on some flocked paper. I used a stamp with the Circle Circus stamp set & punched it out with the same small punch. I cut that panel in thirds then put it on a white panel. Mounted that onto another piece of silver. My polka dot ribbon is also from my scraps. I threaded some thin, sheer gray ribbon through a button and then tied that around the other ribbon. My sentiment is computer generated and punched with the large oval punch (SU!)
I love the look of my corner rounder on 2 layers of the panel and the bottom of the card. I think it gave this card just the right touch :)
Well, I've got a crafting area to clean up...what a mess!

Until next time...

Doodle, doodle, doodle...

~Hello~
I do hope you're having a great week so far!
I started back to work this week...ugh! Spring Break is over...grumble, grumble.
50 more days of school....awwww.....then it'll be flower bed time AND of course Craftiness as many days a week as possible. :)

Here's a card I made for this week's Featured Stamper challenge over on SCS...

My card base is bashful blue run through the Big Shot with the small dots texture plate. I doodled around the edges.
The white piece is also run through with the same embossing plate. The black c/s is textured with some white gel pen doodles. I punched some bashful blue c/s that I had stamped with basic black using Itty Bitty Backgrounds stamp set.
The flower is from the Eastern Blooms stamp set. I stamped it 6 times in rose red ink and cut them out. I stamped the leaf from Vintage Vogue on each square. I adhered 3 of them flat on the squares then the other 3 I popped up on top of them. I added some Crystal Effects to the middles of each flower.
My sentiment is from the Fundamental Phrases stamp set, stamped in basic black.

Thanks for visiting today!

Until next time...

My New Sweet Pea Paper!

Hello everyone! It's the weekend! Yippee! :)
I'm in the middle of cleaning up ceiling mud! Ugh! We had a kitchen fire April of last year and we had to have all the popcorn scraped off our ceilings because of toxic smoke fumes. Well, when we remodeled the kitchen, we wanted to include a built in dishwasher (I didn't have one) and more cabinet space. The kitchen was not designed very well and we had a layout that fit better. Anyway, after all this kitchen remodel, we didn't have money left over to redo the ceilings. hee! hee! I told my hubby that I'd rather have a dishwasher than pretty ceilings at the time. I'm sooooo glad we have finished those now. I can get my wall hangings back up and curtains and start having dinner parties again like we did A LOT before the fire.

Well, now that I've told you my life...let's get on to the craftiness of this post :)

This is a card I did for a few challenges...
Crafty Critters Challenge #23
**Use MoJo Sketch #130
**Use Spring colors!
**Use either flowers or a Spring image!
**You MUST tell us (on your blog!) who you sent it to and the date you mailed it!
~~Okay sketch...I got, Spring colors...I got, my flowers well I have flower buttons and I guess the stamped image could be interpreted as a flower....right? and I'll be giving this card to my mom...AWWWWWWW! :)

Next of course I'll enter it in this week's Mojo Monday challenge

And finally this week at Paper Cutz Challenges they want you to use 3 buttons and 1 ribbon.

I used my new Sweet Pea Designer Series paper stack from SU! I love the colors! The bottom 2 layers are chocolate chip c/s and taken with teal c/s. I used my new old olive satin ribbon and new SU! buttons. Yippee! I love using new products! The pearls are from Kaiser. The image is from Circle Circus stamp set.

Whew.....okay I think I got it all. Thank you so much for visiting today...you made my day!

Until next time...
Blessings...

CAS58 ~ Circle Scraps

Well, Hello there! How ya doin'? :)
I got to participate in the clean and simple challenge this week over on SCS.
The challenge was to create a card using Chocolate chip and mint in mind. Yummmmmy, I love that combo! Now, my hubby on the other hand thinks this combo, in regards to food, is gross. I just love eating a York Peppermint patty in front of him just to see his face! ha! ha! ha!
Ain't that mean?!
Here's my creation...

I'm lovin' using my scraps lately. I hate seeing that big box sitting under the chest, unused. So, for this card I pulled out that baby and got to work. I used very vanilla as my card base. Then I layered a piece of chocolate chip c/s. The green panel along with the patterned paper circle is from a My Minds Eye stack. I had a couple of strips of it in my scrap pile. Then I used a stamp from the Circle Circus set on very vanilla c/s. I stamped it once in chocolate chip then in green galore. It doesn't show up very well in the pic but it looks funky! (in a good way :)) I stamped the Thanks from fundamental phrases set in chocolate chip. I added some sheer ribbon to the green panel and then decorated my envelope.

Thank so much for stopping by today!

Until next time...
Blessings...

Long card...a little bit of a change

Hello everyone!
It's the start of a new week. I hope you spend it with family and friends and fit a little crafting in somewhere too! ;)
Today I'd like to share a card I made that is just a little different from my 'norm'....well, size wise anyway...

See what I mean? It's still very clean and simple but I wanted to make a card a little different than the regular 4.25"x5.5" size. This card fits the small standard mailing envelope. Card dimensions measure 6.3/8"x3.5"
I used whisper white c/s as my base then cut a piece of real red a tiny bit smaller than the base. Before I adhered the red c/s I stamped off it with my medallion stamp in chocolate chip ink. Then I used a sentiment from the Whimsical Words stamp set in the same ink. To add just a little dimension, I used my white gel pen on the stamped image and then added a rhinestone brad to the middle.
What do ya think? :) Thanks for visiting

Until next time...
Blessings...

Another something for our Missionaries

Hello, how are ya today? "Waiting for the weekend?" :)
I wanted to share the card I made to give to our Missionaries that are coming Sunday.
I tried a little something new...well new to me...

I used my scallop oval punch and sponged the sky! How does it look?
I also used my new Beautiful Wings embosslit....yippee! I couldn't wait to try it out :) I popped those little beauties up with tiny pop dots.
The cross is from the Refuge and Strength stamp set.
I used some scrap misc. patterned paper for the hills. The sentiment is computer generated and goes along with the inside which reads..."for staying true to His call." All of our Sunday School class will be signing it and we'll be giving them a big goodie basket! I can't wait to meet them.

Well, dirty dishes and supper prep await! Ugh...

Until next time...

Tropical Umbrellas? ~ Circle Flowers?

Another week...Another Monday....UGH!!!
But, I have a big something to look forward too...SPRING BREAK NEXT WEEK!!!!!
Yippee, skippee! So, a few more working days & then I'll have some serious crafting to do! :)

Anyway....here's a card I made for yesterday's Featured Stampers Challenge over on SCS...

The base is yo yo yellow. I know, I know not the most popular SU! color but I wanted a bright cheery card. So, on the circles I used 2 circles punches layered them then used my scissors to give them a little dimension. What do you think? Do they look like those little tropical drink umbrellas? or flowers for the little bee to buzz around? hee! hee! :) The other colors are real red and pixie pink. The stamp set is Picture This. I added a little Melon Mambo ribbon at the top and some white buttons in the centers.

Great to have you stop by my blog today!

Until next time...
Blessings...

Journal for our Missionary's Wife

Hiya!
How's your weekend? Our's is a little hectic but I'm squeezing in a little crafting!!!
This is a journal I made to give to our Missionary's Wife at church. March is Missionary month and we have 5 coming and our Sunday School classes are getting baskets together for them.

This is a close up...

And here's a full picture...

I used my Daisies #2 die and added some pearls and a rhinestone brad to the middles. Her favorite color is Carolina blue so Bashful Blue from SU! was as close as I could get. :)
I love all the ribbons....so very girlie!!!

Well, we're off to a basketball game now.

Until next time...

CCC #21 ~ Cute as a Bug

Hey everyone!
We're having a cold, snowy week here in Bama country. Brrrr, who else is ready for Spring?
I've been very busy this week and just not had the time to update my blog :(
I have a card class on Friday and I have 30+ ladies coming! Whoa! Just looking at that number makes me sweat. I'm going to be sooooo nervous!
Anywho, getting back to the craftiness...here's my card for the Crafty Critters Blog Group challenge this week...

Colleen really challenged us this week. We had a SCS sketch to go by. We had to include something brown and dots/circles on our project. (my circles are the wheels on the baby buggy :))
This is a little 3x3 notecard I made for a co-worker of my hubby's who just had her baby yesterday. It will go on her baby gift.
I used pretty in pink c/s as my base and my 2 triangles are old olive. I finally got to use my cute little SU! hostess stamp set, Love Bug.

Well, mid-week service awaits. See ya :~)

Until next time...
Blessings...
