Marrying Stamp Sets

Hi!

I hope you had a great week and are now looking to get inky this weekend! :)

Here's a card....another one that I found on my computer that I never put on my blog. I don't know what's going on with me? Where's my head? Oh well, found it and now it's here...
One of my favorite things to do with SU! stamp sets is to use multiple sets on one creation.
I like mixing and matching them up.
For this card I used the set Just Believe for the flower stem and sentiment and the set Mixed Bunch for the flower (it's one of the middles stamps). I stamped it in real red ink on Natural White c/s and cut it out.
The flower center is my favorite on this card. I have these filigree brads hoarded up. I love these things and never use them b/c I LOVE them :)
All of this, I stamped on a piece of Natural White c/s that I ran through my Big Shot with the Labels Collection framelits. I added some real red satin ribbon behind that and then some paper piercing and faux stitching with my white gel pen to the corners of the bashful blue c/s.
I sent this card (yes, I actually mailed a card! :) to my SU! demo (and former Upline, when I was a Demo), Beth. Along with my check for a recent order......YAY! I left the inside blank for her. I usually do this if I mail a card to a fellow paper crafter. I just put a post it note inside to say what I want and leave the card for them to use.

Oh well, I hope you got some kind of inspiration from this little card today.
Have a wonderful day and thank you so much for stopping by!

Until next time...
Blessings...

For the Funny Kiddos!

Hello people!
It's Spring Break around our house....YEA!!!!!!!!!! I love that our kids don't have to get up at 6AM. I also like that I don't have to get up that early! LOL.....we are so looking forward to the Summer :)

Well, it's Tuesday and time for a new Twisted Tuesday Challenge.
*This week we want to see creations for kids.
*The Twist ~ You must include a funny sentiment.
Here's what I came up with....
Now, I will be the first to say this challenge was a BIG challenge for me. I don't have any "silly" sentiments. Believe me....I was on my hands and knees in my closet looking.......I don't have any!
I did find this SU! set that has some "punny" sayings in it. (SU! stamp set "It's The Thought") After I stamped the giraffes....posing all silly I might add, I added some spots to them and their frames. Then added the "long time no see" circle.

I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with for this challenge! I want to laugh out loud!!!! :)
Make sure and check us out at www.twistedtuesdaychallenges.blogspot.com

Other awesome challenges I am entering:
This card also goes along with yesterday's CAS challenge at SCS ~ at the Zoo.
I used the sketch found this week at the sweetest thing ~ Sweet Sunday Sketch 157

Thank you so much for stopping by The Crafty Scrapper!
Have a great day.

Until next time...

Scraps of Masculinity with Flowers!

Hello!
I recently mailed my cards for the CAS Flowers and CAS Masculine swap over on SCS hosted by Patty (LaLatty).
I love the CAS style so when I saw her swap....I had to join!

Here's my card for the Flower group:
I am so proud of my Spellbinders Deckle set. I found it at Hobby Lobby on the clearance aisle! I love a good bargain. My flower image is from a muse studio, Beautiful Botanicals 2 set. The sentiment is from SU! Fundamental Phrases set.

Now, here's the warning for the this masculine card. I am NO GOOD at masculine. Why I make this a big deal I don't know. I heard someone say, we fret over the cards of which have the least critics! :) That's so true.
Here's my Scraps of Masculinity:
With the name, you can guess that I used all scraps on this card. The brown paper...well, I've been hoarding that 6" square piece for a long while. It was given to me so I don't know the vendor. It looks like Bazzil. It has lots of texture and looks like leather. I thought it would be a great addition to this masculine creation. The sentiment is from SU! Thank You Kindly set. Now, I couldn't resist adding some pearls. I thought since they were brown....it wouldn't hurt! :)

Thank you Patty for a great swap! I can't wait to see the cards I get back!

Thank you for stopping by today!

Until next time...
Blessings...

Lots of Cards with Punchy Goodness......(it never ends)!!!!

Hello everyone!

Here's another post with lots of punched goodness. I just get my punches out and can't stop! I wonder what new punches will be in the SU! catalog coming out in June? I can't wait! :)
My husband can hear his wallet shrinking right now. hahaha

This first little darling was made for Sweet P's punchy swap....hi girl!
The butterfly is made with 2 different square punches. Then two corners of each punchie is punched with the corner rounder punch.
This little party card came from and idea I'm sure I saw somewhere, just can't remember where. I used the SU! pennant punch to make the party hat!
This cheery card was made for a challenge in Sweet P's punchy swap. We were to use our punches "negatively". :) Meaning use the paper you punched to get the punched piece and use papers behind that piece to make a design.
And lastly....this one also was made for a challenge in her punchy swap. I wanted the girls to use 3 punched pieces in a row and emboss them.

I thank you so much for stopping by!
Have a great day!

Until next time...

Twisty Colors!

Hi!
It's Tuesday...so that means it's time for a Twisted Challenge!

This week we're getting Twisted with the colors, Green, Pink and Red. Your project needs to include these colors. *The Twist is you also have to include 3 brads and 1 ribbon.

Here's what I came up with...
Now, when I was creating this card, I felt it was done before I added the brads! I didn't want to add them as a matter of fact. I feel they are way too big for this layout. Oh well, a challenge is a challenge and I had to. So, what do you think? Be kind.....;~)
My two stamp sets come from SU!
~ Watercolor Trio
~ Just Believe

My shades of green, pink and red are:
~ Lucky Limeade
~ Real Red
~ Pretty in Pink
Thank you so much for stopping by! Please check out what the other Team members created at Twisted Tuesdays!
Come on....you know you wanna....
Come play with us!

Until next time...

Dueling Darlings ~ Who's The Man?

Hello! Thank you for visiting.

It's time once again to get into a Duel with some Darling friends.
The Dueling Darlings are a group of ladies on SCS. This month our hostesses are  LJ for the Divas and Terry for the Dazzlers.
I am a Dazzler (GO TEAM). Terry sent us a great masculine kit. I love this SU! image...I don't have this set, so it gives me a few extra to play with too!

Stamp set: SU! On the Fly
Metal Accent: Paper Studio
Shiny Dots: Colorbok
She sent the black and white patterned papers. Also, some things she sent I didn't have a chance to use: Ribbon and mini brads from Michael's.
I added a strip of black card stock and some Marina Mist card stock. The green thread, I just bought yesterday and thought it went well to bring out the green in the trees. (thread made my Peaches and Cream) I decided to use the rectangle accent like a lure. Ummm, well, that was my intentions. Looks, of course, like a charm....but a manly charm! LOL! My sentiment is from SU! Fundamental Phrases...stamped in Marina Mist ink.

I colored my image with Copics and Watercolor pencils.
The clouds and sky are made with a sponge dauber, bashful blue ink and a white gel pen.
The sun is masked with crumb cake and so saffron inks.
I added some birds flying around the trees and remembered this time to make the trees reflections in the water! Yay me :)

I hope you like my creation. I will be giving this to my son for his birthday coming up in June. Terry and LJ wanted us to say a little something about "our man". Well, of course my great husband is my man but there is a little man I would like to honor in this post, our son, Aaron. As most of you know, Aaron is Autistic and struggles with a language disorder. He is almost 12, as tall as I am! and loves everybody! He is making great strides in school, but of course can't wait until Summer so he can "Ride the Scooter" everyday (his words....he loves that thing!).
Just recently my husband took Aaron fishing with a family friend. They went out on his boat and oh my goodness, Aaron had a ball. It was the first time he had ever been on a boat. He knows how to swim so he wasn't frightened. He loved wearing the life jacket and his new sunglasses. Here's a pic of our "little man" from that day.
You know, since he's as tall as I am, I guess we could take the "little" off the front. Nope! He'll always be my little guy. :) I love you AARON!

Thank you for stopping by. Please go check out the other Darlings creations. Their blog links are located in my left sidebar.

Until next time...

Punches of Trees and Sunshine

Hi! I hope your week has been INKY! :)

I got to playing around with my punches again and this is what happened:

My blue circle is cut with the Spellbinders circle dies and my Big Shot.
Punches used:
circle punch
scallop circle punch
modern label punch

I hand cut the sun rays. The bird is from the SU! set, Season of Friendship. The sentiment is from SU! Fundamental Phrases.

Thank you for stopping by!

Until next time...

Gettin' Twisty!

Hi everybody!
It's that time again....time to get Twisty!

This week we want to see your cards, pages, 3D projects, etc., with some pretty flowers

WAIT!!!! The Twist is....your creation can't have roses or rosettes on them

Look what I did....

I used the Flowers, Daises #2 die from SU! I cut the medium sized one (cut 2 of them) in half. Then I punched a small circle for each and run them through the Big Shot with the dots embossing folder. I didn't like how that looked so I found some chocolate pearls and added to the daisy centers. The stems are very simple. Just start at the top with the brush end of your SU! marker, drawing down very lightly then the closer to the bottom you get, the harder you bare down to get a gradual line.
My "grass" is some scrap I had (it's from a retired SU! Christmas pack). I cut each blade and then inked the piece with crumb cake using a sponge dauber. The twine is from Wal-Mart and the button is one from SU! I inked the edges of the white card stock with So Saffron ink...it looks darker than that.
I didn't add a sentiment this time. Yep, that's rare for me. I just didn't want to add it to the white space.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Please check out what the other Team members created at Twisted Tuesdays!
Come on....you know you wanna....
Come play with us!

Happy Easter!

This is the day that the Lord has made!
He is the Reason we celebrate this wonderful Easter Sunday.
Look at all HE has done for you.

I hope you have a wonderful day with family and friends.
Go ahead, eat what you want....get back on track tomorrow! :)

Here's a little card I made a while back.
I wanted to wait until today to post it to my blog.

The clouds are made with a sponge dauber and ink pad. Another card to go with the 1st challenge at Twisted Tuesdays! :)
The eggs are punched with an oval punch. I used the negative of the white punched paper. I placed c/s and paper behind the white piece and then added the Cricut cut grass to cover up the bottom.

Happy Easter!
Until next time...
Blessings...

The Crafty Gals April Challenge

Hi :)

Can you believe it's already April? We're in the 4th month of 2012 and it seems like we celebrated New Year's yesterday. My Mom always said this would happen.....She said "The older you get the quicker time goes". I believe you now Mama! :)

Well the 5th of each month brings excitement to me because the blog group I started at SCS posts their monthly challenge creations on this day! Yay! You can find all the lovely ladies (The Crafty Gals) blogs listed in my right sidebar.
This month our lovely, Diane challenged us to make a card using water as inspiration. We also had to use brads, ribbon and patterned paper.

Here's what I came up with....
My image is SU! I colored it with watercolor pencils and a blender pen.
The dsp is from the SU! Sweet Pea stack. I added three black brads above the image.
Then for that pop of color I used a scalloped border of Tempting Turquoise along with a piece of TT ribbon.

Thank you Diane for a great challenge this month!

Other challenges:

Little Red Wagon ~ wants you to include an umbrella in your creation.

This card also goes with the Twisted Tuesday challenge this week....to include clouds on your creations (but the clouds can't be stamped). You have until Sunday night to enter!

Come on over...you know you wanna....
Well, I so appreciate you stopping by!

Until next time...
Blessings...

Here Comes Peter Cottontail!

Hello People!

I am getting so excited about the weekend. Getting together with family and friends on holidays is the best. It's also the time I get to forget about my diet for a few moments. hahahaha
We have yet to get our Easter shopping done though. This is the latest I've ever waited to finish buying our "outfits". (Guys don't like it called that you know) We try to always match. This year we are going with red.....and wow, that is hard to find. I didn't think it would be at all. Oh well, pastels is the thing right now I guess and red just doesn't "go". Bethany might have to go with pink. That's a very light shade of red....right?! :)
Anywho, on to my creation....
I found this little stamp in my stash. I don't know how long I've had it. Isn't he the cutest?! Of course I've named him Peter Cottontail.....hence the title to my post. :)
I stamped him 3 times (so he could have some friends) in Perfect Plum, Melon Mambo and Lucky Limeade inks. The dsp is from the SU! Sweet Pea stack. I cut a banner tail with some Lucky Limeade c/s and Melon Mambo polka dot ribbon. You can barely see it but I added some Lucky Limeade ribbon to the top of the dsp piece too. Finished it with sentiment from SU! Delightful Dozen and some purple rhinestones.
I think I will give this to my daughter with her Easter goodies Sunday. :)

I am playing along with these challenges...

CAS-ual Fridays ~ (CFC46) Name that Tune
The Pink Elephant ~ (TPE142) CAS creations

Have a great day!

Until next time...

Today is the day!
The very first challenge is posted at Twisted Tuesday Challenges.

I hope to see you there!

Here's my card for the challenge....
The inside says "I don't fear the storms."

Our challenge is to make a creation that includes a cloud (or two). The twist is the clouds can't be stamped. We had to get creative.
My clouds are white felt cut with my Spellbinders circles.
The image is from American Art Stamps. I colored it with watercolor pencils and copics.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Be sure and check out all the DT creations at 2TC.
